Not much to update. It’s Valentine’s day and I had an amazing dinner and dessert planned but my husband had to up and get sick on me. Boo! I’ve been taking care of him all week and he’s still home in bed today with a 101.8 temp (He’s hot for me!)
I’ve spent most of the week painting the closet and finishing some stuff in the office. I’ll be able to start moving furniture in this weekend. Yippee! I’m so excited to finally getting done with it.
My first draft of my essay is finished and been sent off to an editor who scares me just a little but I’m pretty good with critical advice. I mean, that’s what it’s there for right? As the writer, you’re not a very good judge of how good your writing is. You need someone who isn’t afraid to say “This paragraph is actually not as clever as you thought it was.”
I also finished another book of the year, World War Z by Max Brooks. It was really amazing. I’ll do a proper review of it soon. He’s a clever, intelligent man. I think I learned more about world politics from this book than any other history lesson I’d ever gotten. I’m now reading Fragile Thingsby Neil Gaiman. Being that Gaiman is a God of logophilia, I’m not too worried about how good this book is going to be.
